Monday Mantra

Mondays can be awful.  Like seriously, is it here already, never been more annoyed with waking up, is it nap time yet, awful.  Which is a shame because the start of a new week should be exciting. It's full of new opportunities and hopefully some activities or events you're looking forward to, yet these things rarely occur on a Monday causing the start of your week to be less than enjoyable instead of the inspiring jump off to the next seven days that it should be.

Well I am here to help! I'll be choosing Monday Mantras to set up my intentions for the following week and I am inviting you to join me.  Whether thinking about my Monday Mantra when the Monday blues get you down or choosing your own mantra, that will be up to you.

And this week my Monday Mantra is....

Work Hard and Be Nice

Yes this little saying graces the cover of my journal so I have it on my mind most of the time but it means a little more to me than you might guess just from face value.  Being a recent university graduate, life can be frustrating (major understatement) at times.  I'm constantly applying to, and being rejected from, jobs and my life is a combination of feeling up in the air or being hopelessly stuck.  So when I woke up today, my inbox lacking the hundreds of job offers I was hoping would flood in over night, I reminded myself that as long as I work hard and be nice then I'm doing exactly what needs to be done.  As long as I work hard and be nice everything will fall into place.  Or worse case scenario?  It won't work out the way I want but I can still feel good about the fact that no matter what success or failure I was experiencing in my life, I always worked hard and I always tried my best to be nice.

What will your Monday Mantra be? Have any helpful hints as to how I can keep this intention all week long? Share in the comments below!

  1. I just found your blog and I am really enjoying it so far! I like posts where you have to self reflect. They also serve as a reminder to be conscious of how you act and how you think. Very cool indeed.
