What Happens in Vegas Goes on the Blog: Tips to Making your Vegas Adventure even Better

I recently (and successfully/safely) came home from my first, and surely not my last, trip to Vegas and I had a truly amazing time.  As well as making lots of memories and working on my tan (ok I know that's a long shot but I did get a few more freckles) I learned a few things about travelling to Vegas that could make a first time trip seamless and maybe give you Vegas experts a few new ideas.

#1 Don't Skimp on the Sunscreen

Yes, the first tip may be more aimed at people who share my very pale, freckle overload complexion, but I still think the basis of this advice is good for everyone.  It's mostly about taking care of yourself.  One of the quickest and surest ways to ruin your time in Vegas is by letting yourself get to sun burnt (or sick or tired) to enjoy it.  My sun screening process started shortly after I woke up, and I carried the spray version with me to the pool for quick touch ups when I was too tired, or had one drink too many, to  care to start the sun screening process all over again.

      #2 Go to a Show

One of my favourite moments of my entire trip was getting to see The Blue Man Group.  For anyone who has seen them, you will understand me when I say it was one of the weirdest and simultaneously coolest shows I've ever seen, and I am so glad that I went.

#3 Play My Vegas Slots

My Vegas Slots is an app you download, play, and earn real life rewards for your trip to Vegas.  We got 2-for-1 buffet (that we took full advantage of), free drinks, and discounts on tickets.  Be sure to read the fine print as there always is fine print when it comes to things like this, but I'm sure my fellow students will agree, free anything is always better than having to pay full price.

#4 Consider Participating in all or some of these Highlights from my Trip

We did the High Roller and to Mick's, both of which offered amazing views of The World Famous Las Vegas Strip.  Sitting at a Piano Bar, or more accurately right outside of the Piano Bar singing along to every song, was another highlight.  Eating at Dick's restaurant, where the servers and customers alike are equally rude but in the most hilarious way, is a must do for all. Working at a restaurant myself I particularly enjoyed this stop.

#5 Enjoy every Second

I know we're talking about Vegas but feel free to take this piece of advice on for every part of your life.  My friends and I all work very hard and we chose to spend our hard earned money on this trip, and I think it's because we worked so hard to get there that we knew how important it was to enjoy every second of our time there.  Whether it was lounging by the pool or walking down the strip I tried to not forget for a moment how lucky I was to to be there with some of my best friends, making memories of a lifetime.
